Story
This summer I will be cycling with more than 50 other students from Austin, Texas, to Anchorage, Alaska to raise money for the fight against cancer.
As a rider with Texas 4000 for Cancer, I will embark upon a 70-day, 4,500 mile trek across North America on the longest annual charity bike ride in the world, with the hope of engaging
communities across the nation in the battle against cancer. My teammates and I will cycle through communities to present on cancer awareness and to educate people on cancer prevention and early detection.
Community has always anchored me, been my support system. I ride for the St. John’s and UT communities. I ride for the people we’ve lost. Through diagnoses and treatment, seeing these communities come together reinforces my belief that even in the most difficult moments there is hope. Throughout my ride I want to spread this hope to show those touched by this disease that they are not alone.
Each of us are raising $4,500—one dollar for every mile ridden. I know none of this is possible without the support of people like you.
Any amount you can donate will be greatly appreciated. If I can ride for you, a family member, or a friend please reach out.
To Alaska and back,
Roosh
