Louise Rice was incredible: Friend, Athlete, and Scientist. She was a great runner as she was a researcher, and the other way around. Beyond being very much responsible for infecting me with the long distance running bug, developing a cure for cancer was not just an empty phrase for her - this is what she did, professionally, exceptionally.
