Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I will edit this page & add the words when I can find them, at present there are no words at all - we lost Frances unexpectedly on January 5th this year & I am hoping to raise as much as possible for The Institute of Cancer research.
How will I do this?
I will be running this years London Marathon in April , Liverpool Marathon in May , Tenby LCW marathon in July & Berlin Marathon in September - My page will close in October - my initial target was £2,000 for London then I thought why not run FOUR so I have increased the target to match the challenge 4K it is
Frances was not just my sister she was mine & my sister Anne-Marie’s guardian & brought us up after we lost our mother to breast cancer, she was only 19 herself & stepped in without question.
Frances nursed my mum prior to her death without any outside help. In addition to that Frances had only just passed her driving test & used to drive my mother back & forth to velindre for her treatment whilst looking after us her siblings working & studying
Francie really was an absolute legend
Sadly all of this happened when I was a mere nine years old 1984 - Frances kept us all together, she not only ran a house, made sure everything was maintained & studied to obtain her degree & then her teaching qualifications, by her taking us on she prevented us from being put into care
Frances or Francie as we always called her always did the right thing - she never considered it a chore, she simply loved us - Frances was just that - she was love
The world will never be the same, such an unsung hero, I just honestly can’t believe that she has gone
To be as poorly as she was with what we thought was a chronic illness ( endometriosis- which was bad enough) ...to suddenly then be diagnosed with cancer on 21st Dec 2018 to lose her without any warning on 5th January is like a knife to my heart, ovarian cancer really is the silent killer & there must be some way to find the answers.
I know that putting my trainers on isn’t going to bring her back but I know that somewhere that there has to be a cure for this horrific disgusting disease that takes so much & rips families apart. I’m determined that I am going to do my best to make a difference & pray that there is a cure out there. There HAS to be .
Thanks for taking the time to read my page & I am eternally greatful for you supporting me to raise vital funds. The ICR have already made great waves to find the cure for ovarian cancer & any monies I raise will go towards essential research.
Many thanks. Much love. Roni XXX
