Story
I recently took up cycling in memory of Stefanie Murphy (my Mother in Law) and have never riden more than 30 miles. The 50 miles to Brighton will be a real challenge but my aim is to ride (not walk) to the top of the big hill Ditchling Beacon. Stefanie died prematurely from heart failure. She was one of life's 'good people' helpful and generous to all who knew her. She had retired following a very successful teaching career. We are continually pleasantly surprised to meet parents who were her students and they still recall her with fond memories. Stefanie died unexpectedly and my wife did not get a chance to say goodbye. More research could help to develop reliable tests to clearly identify those at significant risk of heart failure. I am riding in her memory to raise heart awareness and also to reflect on the many other friends who have benefited from new medical heart procedures. Every donation of what ever size will be very much appreciated.
