Story
Dear Friends and Family,
As many of you know, I like to ride a bicycle…A LOT. This summer I’m doing a 3-day ride from Westport Connecticut to Montreal Canada. I know that sounds crazy. I thought about it after I registered, paid my fee and then said to myself…WHAT AM I THINKING, I have to bring my passport!!!
- Day 1: Westport, CT to Williamstown, MA – 135 Miles 8300’ of Elevation
- Day 2: Williamstown, MA to Sugarbush, VT – 138 Miles 9219’ of Elevation
- Day 3: Sugarbush, VT to Montreal, QB – 143 Miles 5200’ of Elevation
Ok, so that’s 416 miles= 138 miles/ day average distance and 22719 vertical feet climbing= 7573 feet uphill per day. I’m not going to lie, that’s a lot of time on a bike and the MOST I’ve ever ridden in 3 days.
Here’s the best part though…I’m raising funds for The Felix Organization, a wonderful charity started by Darryl “DMC” McDaniels (of Run DMC) that provides inner-city foster kids with mentoring, guidance, education, and wonderful experiences, the best of which is Camp Felix, a weeklong summer camp in Upstate New York. I’m hoping to raise $5,000…that would send 10 kids to Camp Felix for a whole week this summer.
I would be grateful if you could find it in your hearts to help and donate.
