Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Having been persuaded by my twin brother Ron to run the Robin Hood Marathon in September last year, I decided to get my own back on him and make him run the Brighton Marathon this year.
I have not had the best of luck training , having a pulled Acheles tendon that refused to get better for ages. So much so ,that I thought I would not be able to run in the marathon, hence the lateness of my fund raising attempts
My Acheles eventually got better, but needless to say I've had to cram all of my training into the last 6 weeks instead of months.
So there have been some unfortunates that have witnessed my early morning runs at Pinewood Film Studios.
One person commented that " Roland looks like a plank being towed slowly by a car". Which I feel is harsh but fair.
So much for my stylish running technique, but the thing is that I am going through a lot of pain and effort for a really good cause.
I raised over £1000 last yaer for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research, and was hoping to match it this year. So please give generously and make all of this pain worthwhile !!!
I will be running 22 miles on Sunday 1st April then it's only 2 weeks to go before the big day.
Wish me luck , because I think I may need it.
You con get a free Brighton Marathon App if you have an i-Phone, and you can follow how I'm doing on the day.
Thankyou for donating
All the best
Roland
