On the weekend of the 21^st & 22^nd June I will be competing as a SOLO rider in the Worlds largest 24hr Mountain Bike endurance event, Wiggle’s Mountain Mayhem, held at Gatcombe Park, Gloucestershire.

I’m undertaking this challenge with the aim of raising money for three selected charities, The Severn Hospice, Prostate Cancer UK and Cancer Research UK.

Two of my friend’s families have recently lost love ones to this terrible, indiscriminate disease and both families received fantastic help and support at the Severn Hospice.

Roger Teece was an Engineering Technician and played a big part in my earlier education whilst studying at TCAT. Rodger was methodical in his approach, extremely helpful, had a sharp, quick wit, backed up with a fantastic sense of humour and was one of life’s gents.

Nick Wilson, aka Nick Carling as his ‘fans’ would know him as, was the pub and club entertainer, who worked hard and played hard. With his shirt untucked and his waistcoat undone, Nick could hold a room with his smooth voice and stage presence. Even at his funeral Nick voice could still be heard as one of his songs was played at his service….what a touching send off.

I have paid the £75 entry fee so all monies raised go straight to this charity.
