Story

In 2017 whilst training for Swansea Half Marathon I noticed a change in my bowel habits.  I’ve been a runner majority of my life, a “fit guy” as my consultant mentioned, and decided to aim for something hence the Swansea half.

Not only a change in my bowel habits but also fatigue set in, blood on the stools 💩 along with bowel habit changes.  August 2017 saw me being diagnosed with Stage 3 Bowel Cancer at the age of 37, no family history with a good varied diet.

The picture was actually taken within a matter of hours of removing the tumour and having an ileostomy bag fitted, we wanted to document all we could to help raise awareness.

A some 5 years later and I’m challenging myself (it’s not been easy) for the 2022 Wizz Air Cardiff Half Marathon on Sunday 2 October.

If you can, please don’t are, little or large…it doesn’t matter - if you cannot donate please share and help raise awareness to stop bowel cancer!  1-9 will get it, cancer does not discriminate, age, sex or colour!
