WOW.. Where do I start?
As you will be aware we have now completed the Great North Run, Many many thanks to all those that supported us in raising an amazing total of over ONE THOUSAND POUNDS!
We had a fantastic time taking part, it was truly a difficult race with some very damp moments, nonetheless we made it! Hannah bombed on in front and left the "oldies" way behind! she was even smiling as she crossed the line! Ridiculous if you ask me! :-)
It was an absolute pleasure to meet the founder of The Butterly Thyroid Cancer Trust Kate & her fabulous husband Steve, what a fantastic couple, huge respect there! A pair of Saints!
I have added some pictures of us suffering during the race for your pleasure!
Again, many thanks for all your support, it's such a worthy cause!

My name is Hannah, I am 17, and I am attempting to do the Great North Run with my Dad, Roger and my Mum, Gill.
My Mum, Grandad, uncle, and cousins, suffer with a condition called MEN2a (Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia), which is a cancer affecting the endocrine system. A diagnosis of MEN2a is made when a patient has one or two growths which can occur in the thyroid, parathyroid glands, and the adrenal glands. Almost 100% of MEN2a patients will develop medullary thyroid cancer (MTC) by the age of 40.
Butterfly Thyroid Cancer Trust was set up as there was little support for Thyroid Cancer patients, and this charity ensures that patients do not have to face the journey alone. This is why we have decided to run for Butterfly Thyroid Cancer Trust, as we believe that sufferers and their families should get the best possible care & support!
We have taken on the challenge of running a half marathon, consisting of 13.1 miles in the Great North Run on September 18th 2011, to raise much needed funds for the fantastic charity "Butterfly Thyroid Cancer Trust", so please dig deep and donate now!! Many thanks for your anticipated support! :)
