Event: Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon 2023, on 14 May 2023
MND research is at a point where life-saving treatments are potentially on the horizon. And Sheffield is more than ready to be a frontrunner to find the answers. By fundraising, you'll improve the lives of patients long into the future.

Story

One day last April I made the mistake of watching breakfast television.  The guest that day was Kevin Sinfield who must be one of the most inspirational and impressive human beings in this country.  He had just finished running 100 miles in a day to raise money for his mate Rob Burrow who has MND.  That wasnt enough so he decided to organise a marathon in his mate's name.

As some readers will know my second cousin, Jake, died recently from MND so I though I really should do the marathon and signed up the same day.  Since then Ive been cursing Mr Sinfield on a regular basis because this training is really hard and it hurts!  And Im only half way through!

If you havent heard of Rob Burrow then you're probably a southerner (hes a legend up north).  He's one of our finest rugby league players.  Small in stature (he was constantly told he was too small to play rugby league) but very quick and very brave he played in the legendary Leeds Rhinos team that multiple trophies in the 2000s/2010s.  If you can, read his book (Too Many Reasons to Live) and do watch this utube clip Rob Burrow Try - Grand Final 2011 St Helens vs Leeds - 1080p - YouTube.  Sadly now he has MND but is fighting hard.

Please do give what you can to help fight this horrible disease and stop it ruining the lives of legends like Rob and my 2nd cousin Jake.

Ill match all money raised to a max of £5k so lets see if we cant make £10k.

All the best
