Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Many of you will know that the charity nearest to my heart is the Jubilee Sailing Trust, which operates the only two tall ships in the world designed and built to enable people of all physical abilities to sail side-by-side as equals.
The trust's first ship, the STS LORD NELSON, was completed in 1986 and in the 25 years since she has taken over 24,000 people to sea, of whom 10,000 were physically disabled and nearly 4,000 were wheelchair users!
To celebrate this fantastic achievement and to raise money to help it continue for another 25 years, this September I am walking across Scotland from Fort William to Inverness along the Great Glen Way. Total distance is approximately 80 miles, so in deference to my age I plan to do it in 6 days.
If you would like to sponsor me you can donate through JustGiving. It is simple, fast and totally secure and your details are safe - JustGiving will never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the JST and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s a most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the JST.
My target is £1000, but I would be more than happy to double or treble this sum!
Latest news - Completed walk on 21st September, only one small blister and a ruddy face. Weather extremely kind and scenery superb. Initial target achieved while away - hopefully a little more to come. Grateful thanks to all who have supported me and the JST.
Roger
