Story
Hi folks
Walking in the beautiful Somerset countryside is such a privilege. During the pandemic, I have been reading all sorts of stuff about Somerset as well as about the importance of looking after your health, both physical and mental. I came across the book "Somerset's Coast - a Living Landscape" by Nigel Phillips. It inspired me to walk the entire Somerset coast, which is about 80 miles. I plan to walk the length of it in one go on 1st/2nd October, the Harvest Moon, so I hope it’s a clear night!
To prep for that, I have done a warm-up by walking the Exmoor Perambulation - 30 miles - in August.
So 110 or so miles in two walks, 30 on Exmoor NP and the other 80 odd along the entire Somerset Coast. 40 Commando Royal Marines are keeping me safe as I'm on my own on this challenge (what could possibly go wrong). Thank you to the Commando Volunteers.
Somerset Wildlife Trust will benefit from anything you can donate. I want to help them to keep my beautiful county in good shape.
