Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In 2013 I cycled from St Malo to Montpellier and raised over £1300 for Alzheimer's and Naomi House. Never again, I thought.
Now, in a moment of sheer madness, my friend Pete Scott and myself, two daft old pensioners, have decided to commemorate the life of Alois Alzheimer by cycling from Poland to the UK, taking in some of his key life event locations.
We start in Wroclaw where he died, then to Berlin, Würzburg, Marktbreit (his birthplace), Aschaffenburg and Frankfurt from where we set off back to the UK across France to Caen and home to Portsmouth.
As this year is the centenary of his death in 1915, we have set our target distance at 1915 Km in the hope of raising at least £1915 for the Alzheimer's Society to help in their important work in combating this terrible disease.
The challenge starts Mid September and we will be on the road for about a month, mostly camping overnight.....hopefully the weather will be kind but we are going prepared for an Autumn in Northern Europe.
PLEASE donate generously, every penny counts! It's probably too late to help old duffers like me and Pete but you youngsters can just think of your donation as an investment for your future :-)
Thank you so much for reading this far and don't forget to have a look at the team page https://www.justgiving.com/teams/MOPIL from time to time to check on progress
All the Best
