Story
Roger says “I am running the half-marathon and Brighton Marathon 10k this year because I want to raise money for Speak Out.” When asked how his disabilities affect his running he tell us “It doesn’t, I just get on with it, I just need to run oneven surfaces, so I stick to road running”.
Roger has used services at Speak Out and is now a volunteer and a member of a Training Group who run Disability awareness training council staff.
Roger started running aged 17 when he was living in his hometown of Durban, South Africa. Roger says he likes running because “it makes you feel good afterwards”. He competed in many races, starting with short distances and building up run an ultra-marathon in South Africa which was 52 miles long. An illness forced Roger to give up running for 2 years but when he moved to Hove he picked it up again.
Please support Roger and help him raise funds for Speak Out.
