Here is my story........

I have always battled with Alcohol and my mental health. Ever since I was small it has always been around in some form or another.

Around six months ago it all came to a head and life was pretty torid for me and also my family, when you are in it you can not see the damage you are doing to those closest to you! It was at that point I decided to get help.I first spoke to my GP and he put me in touch with a local charity called ARC MK, now this charity (I have since found out that it is called 'We are With You' ) is a free service and is part of the NHS trust. 

I will be honest and the hardest thing I have ever had to do in my entire life is firstly admit that I need help and then walking through the doors and asking for help!!  

ARC MK have been a huge help to me. I was introduced to a member of the team that has been there for me since that first meeting. I have had great access to counseling, doctors, mental health groups, basically anything I needed for aid my recovery there has even been support for my family! 

I have now been sober for 4 months and I am doing this, my first Triathlon to try and raise as much money as I can to give back to a great charity that has helped me and many others. As we all know yhe NHS has been under huge financial preasure and anything I can give back would be a huge help for ARC MK to continue to give the support needed within the community. I hope that after reading my story you can give whatever you can to help me and others to stay healthy.
