Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I’m cycling about 1800 km (1100miles) to represent how many people loose their lives each year on the roads in the UK - one person per kilometre for the entire length of the country!
As a roads policing officer I’ve attended hundreds of serious collisions on the road network in London and have seen first-hand the impact that these incidents have on those involved.
I’ve seen the shock and devastation caused to families and communities caused by the sudden and traumatic death of their loved one or the effect on a person when they receive a life-changing injury. But I’ve also seen the grit and determination of those involved to get on with life after these incidents.
Roadpeace is a superb charity that supports the victims and families and I’m asking you to show that you care too. Each day 5 people lose their lives and 60 receive life-changing injuries and I’m taking on the challenge of cycling from Land’s End to John O’ Groats via London, beginning on 8th September.
