Story

In loving memory of Rodney Alan Lock (09/06/1930 - 22/06/2019)

Instead of flowers for Rodney at his funeral on Thursday 4th July, we are asking for donations to The Rosemary Foundation instead.

Without this wonderful charity and their team of nurses Robin and I would have struggled to keep Rodney at home during his final few weeks as were his wishes. The lovely ladies were on the end of the phone 24 hours a day, be it for a chat, advice or assistance, always answering the phone with a smile even at 4am when we called them!

A wealth of knowledge and a pillar of strength we could lean on in times of need.  Sian and Jeannette, Sandy and Caroline in particular we can never thank enough. They were the ladies we saw the most and sometimes more than just once in a day. Sian and Jeannette were there for the three of us more than once on Rodney's last day and brought a smile to our faces even in the saddest of times, just as Rodney did with them each time he saw them.

The Rosemary Foundation is a Charity providing a ‘Hospice at Home’ service in Petersfield and the surrounding towns and villages. It is intended to help patients in the latter stage of life limiting conditions.

This service offers practical help, nursing care, emotional and counselling support, together with day and night sitting service and trained nurses available 24 hours a day. Care continues through the first year of bereavement.

The Rosemary Foundation receives no statutory funding but provides a valuable service at no cost to the patient or their family.

The services of the Rosemary Foundation are free of all charge to patients and carers
