Story
It's been 8 years since I last raised money for Strathcarron and a lot has happened in this time. I ran the Edinburgh Marathon in memory of my gran who benefitted from the care given by Strathcarron, since then my step dad also sadly passed away,he too received care from Strathcarron. I myself have had a difficult time but with the help and support of friends and family I am back on the right track. To this end I want to give something back, and the best way I can think of is to raise funds for Strathcarron again..
So I've set myself a decent challenge, first up is Celtman on June 18th. This is a 3.2km sea swim with the jellyfish, in Loch Sheildaig, Then it's a 125 mile cycle taking in some of the NC500 before a Marathon over Beinn Eighe. If this wasn't enough I'll be back a week later to take part in the Celtman Solo.Five. This is another lengthy swim in Loch Sheildaig before cycling 60 odd miles around the coast from Sheildaig to Applecross and up the fearsome Beallach na Ba and on to Torridon. From there it's a half marathon in the shadow of Beinn Eighe. This is a challenge and one I hope to conquer but knowing I'm raising money for Strathcarron will help me do it
As an independent hospice, Strathcarron cares for over 1,400 people every year at a time when both they and their family need it most. The Hospice philosophy is about living until you die and the team ensure people have every opportunity to achieve their goals right up until the last moment. To do this, the charity needs to raise raise over £14,315 a day to keep its services running. Please support me as I challenge myself for Strathcarron Hospice. Just £24 can pay for one hour of nursing care and really will make a difference. Thank you.
