Story
To celebrate my forthcoming 70th birthday, on Saturday 23 April I will be cycling 70 miles to raise money for Launchpad. Along with many other cyclists, I will be riding from Reading to Oxford and back as part of the Robert Boyle Tribute Audax.
Audax is a non-competitive long-distance cycling event. To regular Audaxers, 100k / 70 miles is a short distance, but it's longer than anything I've done since before the pandemic. The last Audax I did was five years ago, so I'll need to get some training in.
Launchpad Reading works to prevent homelessness in Reading, providing a drop-in service, "floating support" and legal advice to homeless people. They also provide supported housing and recently opened a new work and life skills centre to help vulnerable people learn new skills, build confidence and get back into work.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure, just click on the Give Now link. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
