Story
I'm sorry to say that my mother, Joy Robina Ipsita Halder-Willson, died on Easter Monday, 13 April 2020.
My mother was 74 at the time of her death and, while I've yet to receive an official cause of death, it's likely that my mother died of coronavirus. She was showing symptoms for two weeks before her death, at which point there had been two confirmed cases in the care home.
In 2017 my mother was hospitalised with stroke and vascular dementia, and had remained bed-bound ever since.
She did not leave a will, so I am fundraising for Age UK in her memory.
Unfortunately, in the last two decades of her life, my mother withdrew from friends and loved ones – including me. She had never met my children. And I believe this personality shift was down to early dementia or another mental health problem.
So if you knew my mother, and you'd like to, please email me at wilder.heritage@gmail.com.
And if you can, please donate in my mother's memory, and help support the work Age UK does to help older, vulnerable people deal with coronavirus and all the various indignities of ageing.
Many thanks,
Robyn Wilder Heritage
