Story

So, after just about scraping my way to the end of the Great North Run, I’ve apparently decided ‘yeah, how hard could DOUBLE THAT be??’ and am running the London Marathon this April, all in the name of the Ella Dawson Foundation.

It’s a charity close to my heart, set up by the Dawson family in 2022 after losing their daughter Ella to Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia in 2021. I got to know the family through looking after Ella and now continue to work with them through their charity supporting other young people with cancer.

The Ella Dawson Foundation provides well-being support for young people diagnosed with cancer, be that physical, psychological and emotional or nutrition based. They are an incredible charity and the work they are doing is amazing. You can read their mission statement below:

‘Our mission is to provide a wellbeing blueprint so that every young adult with a cancer diagnosis has the tools and support they need to live well, positively and be empowered.’

My goal is to raise enough for £10 a mile, but anything that you can give to help shimmy me over the finish line would be amazing!
