Story
I am delighted to finally be able to do my postponed Sealand swim for Aspire this year on 22nd July!
The Principality of Sealand is one of the world’s most famous ‘micro-nations’. It was originally built as a gun-tower fortress to defend shipping lanes during World War II. In 1967 it became an independent sovereign State and on 29th September this year i will be making the 8 mile / 12km journey through the North Sea back to the coast of Suffolk.
The Sealand swim is very rare, there has been less than a handful of men and two women who has made the journey to date!
I couldn't be more proud to be fundraising again for Aspire, a charity that is dedicated to creating a world where people with spinal cord injury have an equal place in society free from physical obstacles, economic barriers and social prejudices.
Every four hours someone is paralysed by a spinal cord injury so please help me on my fundraising mission and aid the move from injury to independence!!
Thank you for your continued support!
Lots of love,
Robyn
