I’m taking part in the Flamin-Go 35 Challenge to help raise money for the Birmingham Women’s Hospital Woodland House appeal.
I have pledged to run 35 miles in 3.5 days dressed as a flamingo!
You are invited to take part in our fabulous ‘Flamingo-Go 35’ challenge in celebration of our gorgeous sister Amy.
Raising money for the Birmingham Women's Hospital Woodland House Appeal.
Amy fulfilled her vocation at the Birmingham Women's Hospital as a neonatal nursery nurse. We tragically lost our beautiful Amy in September 2017 aged just 32. My family and I are trying to keep her passion for patient care alive by raising money for this vital cause. Amy’s love of flamingos now seeps into everything we do, so we just had to include a flamingo in the theme!
What is the challenge?
Taking inspiration from the London Marathon’s recent ‘2.6 Challenge’, setup to help support UK charities during the Covid-19 pandemic – we’re organising a ‘3.5 Challenge’ in celebration of what would have been Amy’s 35th birthday.
So, what do you have to do?
Complete any activity you like that involves the number 35 between 1st June and 31st July.
Be that a 3.5km/mile run/walk, holding a plank for 3.5 minutes, walking up and down your stairs 35 times. Or maybe something less physical, like baking 35 cakes, completing 35 crosswords, some knitting, painting, quizzing – there are no restrictions (other than those imposed by UK government at the time!)
PLUS if you can feature flamingos in your chosen activity somehow, that would be fantastic!
Decide on your activity, and make a pledge £5 per person, or £10 per family to support the charity at a time when donations are needed more than ever.
Once you’ve chosen your activity, please visit justgiving.com/flamingo35 to make your donation, making sure you let us know who you are and what activity you’re doing.
You are welcome to enter individually or as a family. If you can, invite your friends and family to sponsor you by joining the FlaminGo 35 challenge team from the main Just Giving page.
Then complete your activity by Friday 31st July – making sure you take plenty of photos and share them with us on this event page when you’ve finished!
