London Marathon - 13th April 2014
Hi All,
After completing my first London Marathon in 2005 I’ve decided to give it another go … but this time I’m doing it properly!
In 2005 I stumbled over the line in 4 hours and 6 minutes but this year I’m hoping to do it in 3 hours and hoping to raise a lot of money for Make-A-Wish Foundation UK.
Make-A-Wish Foundation UK are a relatively small charity but for the last 3 years they have been absolutely amazing before and after the Great North Run and that’s why I’ve chosen to run for them in the London Marathon this year.
There are 20,000 children and young people living in the UK with a life-threatening illness and Make-A-Wish Foundation UK aims to grant the wishes of over 1,000 of those children. To do this they need to raise at least £7m in 2014, they receive NO government funding or lottery grants and they only rely on generous support of the public.
Most of us had a great childhood and were able to enjoy growing up but for those struggling with life-threatening illnesses everyday can be a fight to survive and all they want is to do is enjoy the time they have - by supporting me for this run you can make a real difference to a child’s life so please give as much as you can.
I know that everything I raise will make a difference to children with life-threatening illnesses and I’ve set a high target of £2000. Please dig deep and give as much as you can - EVERY PENNY COUNTS AND REALLY WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
Training has been tough, especially as I tore the medial ligament in my right knee in December, but since the middle of January I’ve been pounding the streets around Dartford to make sure I’m as prepared as possible for the Marathon.
Please help me to make a difference to a child’s life, every penny or £1 will be much appreciated by me and the charity.
THANK YOU!
