Story
As many of you may know Tracey was diagnosed with breast cancer in October 2022 and is still receiving treatment. We spent many, many hours at Addenbrookes hospital in Cambridge over the past 6 months and have benefitted first hand from the help and support of the MacMillan team based there. One hopes never to have to utilise their services but they are so valuable if they are ever needed.
On 20 May 2023, Alastair & I (without Tracey as she will still be recovering from surgery) are taking part in a "Mighty Hike for MacMillan" of 26 miles along the picturesque Norfolk coastline to raise money so that MacMillan can continue their invaluable support for people living with cancer.
You are probably thinking that I am more built for comfort than distance and it would be hard to disagree with you, but we have pledged to raise £500 between us and would appreciate any support you can offer in us reaching this target. It could go towards funding a Macmillan Support Worker for two days who could provide emotional, practical and financial advice to someone affected by cancer.
