Why?

I believe that every child deserves equal opportunity to experience this world, to thrive on this planet, to express their true self, and to have the freedom to make their own choices each and every day.

Unfortunately, in 2022, this is still not the case. 1 in 4 children do not officially exist; 160 million children are in child labour; 1.2 billion children live in poverty; numbers that have sky-rocketed as a result of the global pandemic. A recent trip to Tanzania really opened my eyes, profoundly affecting my perspective of the world - we have to do more together to change this!

I have always been grateful for my experience and blessings in life; and the majority who read this are undoubtedly also living a very privileged life compared to those mentioned above. At minimum every child deserves the right to quality nutrition, clean water, safety, security, and the chance to live a healthy and well life.

This is why I have come together with the incredible charity, Hope for Children, to raise as many funds as possible to provide these children the chance that every human deserves in this world!

What?

In 2024, I will take on the infamous Marathon des Sables, which is renowned for being the toughest footrace on Earth. I will put myself through 18 months of enduring training in preparation for a relentless 6 days in the 50 degree heat of the Saharan sun in Morocco. The 251km / 156mile ultra marathon will by far be the toughest challenge I have embarked on yet. No doubt I will suffer mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and physically along the journey, but this suffering is incomparable to that which too many children experience. This suffering is a choice; a choice to sacrifice in freedom and opportunity in order to provide it to others.

Fuelled by the opportunity to contribute to the lives of so many children who need a helping-loving hand; motivated by the knowingness that so many of you will be supporting this cause because of it...

We are helping to change this by delivering education, health, livelihoods and Child Rights projects that benefit thousands of children and families each year.
