We fund research, provide support, campaign to bring more than hope to those affected.

Story

In August 2014 our lives changed when Chris was diagnosed with advanced pancreatic cancer. After six months of aggressive chemotherapy he was told that it had had no effect and that further treatment was not possible. Sadly, he died in May this year, just after his 38th birthday, leaving behind his young family.

Chris was a passionate skier and for most of his adult life worked in the ski industry in France and New Zealand, chasing the winter seasons. He spent his life on the slopes, so what better way for us to celebrate his life and raise much needed funds for research than a ski challenge.

On Saturday 29 August, with the help of friends and family, we skied and sledged 1977 runs of Hemel Snow Centre in 1 hour and 56 mins, just inside our target time of 2 hours, to mark the year Chris was born.

Thank you to everyone who took part, especially the children who skied their socks off!

Many thanks to those who sponsored us all in our Ski Challenge. Our page will remain open until the end of September for those who may still wish to add their support.

We and Pancreatic Cancer UK are most grateful.

It’s unacceptable that more than half of people diagnosed with the deadliest common cancer die within three months. That’s why they need and deserve more. More research, more funding, more breakthroughs. More than hope. Together we’ll make that possible.
