This will be the second time I have run the London Marathon which goes to show that even the most painful memories fade - in this case within about 18 months.

Compass Group has this year entered into a terrific partnership with Cancer Research UK and the proceeds from sponsoring me for the London Marathon all go to funding further research into beating a disease that will touch almost all of us either directly or through family and friends at some point in our lives.

Though finding time for the training has been tough, this feels like such a worthwhile thing to do that I have been out in the snow, ice, and rain. It has been a test of my mental resilience, though not as much a test as Rafa continuing to pick Lucas.
