Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
It's been a long time since I did a sponsored 'anything'! So when a friend approached me and asked if I would contemplate walking 35 miles to raise money for WOW I jumped at it! Well I took a few moments to think about it ... and then jumped at it.
I am walking 35 miles on Dartmoor over 2 days in July on last years Ten Tors route with a small group of other people to keep fit ... but primarily to raise funds for WOW, Women Of Worth. WOW is a division of WCM (World Christian Ministries) which was set up as a charity by Roy David in 1980.
WCM works in India and Ethiopia with destitute women including many widows, forgotten members of society with minimal possessions. WCM helps with food and health care, run childrens' education programmes and provides medical care and education, provided for all regardless of religious background.
A little donation on our part goes a long way to helping someone else in another country have just the basic standards of living we have come to expect.
I have been supporting WCM for a number of years now and I can vouch for their integrity. I know many of the trustees and can report that the majority of any donation you make will go straight to the 'coal face'.
So come on, I need to raise a minimum of £200 just to take part, don't leave me embarassed!! I would really appreciate any donation, no matter how small, as every penny (pound!) counts towards my target.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe too – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Many thanks for taking the time to read this,
