Glasgow Kiltwalk 2025 · 26 April 2025 to 27 April 2025 · Start fundraising for this event
I'm taking part in the Kiltwalk to raise vital funds for Positive Action in Housing’s Emergency Relief Fund. This fund gives out over £100,000 a year to support refugees, migrants, and minorities who are destitute or in emergency need of shelter, food, clothing, and help to stay warm.
From our Glasgow base, we support over 4,500 people a year—families, young children, pregnant women, the elderly, and those with mental health struggles—who have nowhere else to turn. Many have fled war, persecution, or human rights abuses, only to find themselves abandoned by the system, without money, shelter, or even food.
The Emergency Relief Fund offers a lifeline. It provides a small amount of money for essentials like food and travel, arranges emergency shelter, and gives people the breathing space they need to seek good legal advice, submit fresh evidence, or challenge wrongful asylum decisions. With this support, many families have gone on to secure their right to remain in safety.
Right now, we’re distributing over £8,000 a month in hardship funds, but demand is growing. That’s why I’m taking on this challenge—to help make sure we can continue giving people hope and dignity when they have nothing else.
Every donation, no matter how small, makes a difference.
£10 could help someone buy food for a few days.
£25 could cover travel costs to vital legal or medical appointments.
£50 could provide emergency shelter for someone with nowhere else to go.
Donating through JustGiving is fast, secure, and ensures every eligible donation benefits from Gift Aid, adding 25% extra at no cost to you.
