Story
Hello. Like many people I've been running to try and stay sane during the lockdown. My mileage has crept up to approaching a half marathon, so I thought I'd push through to 13.1 miles and use it as an opportunity to try and raise some money for good causes.
Primarily I'm raising money for the local food bank so they can help people struggling during the incoming recession. I'll also donate an additional 50% of whatever I raise to Music Venues Trust, who are trying to stop grassroots music venues from closing. Across the UK, 35% of venues have closed after the last decade. With venues forced to close during the lockdown, and possibly some of the last businesses to re-open, there's a real risk that many more will close without our support in the coming months. Thanks!
As I'll be running on my own, I will only be competing against myself when I ran a half marathon a decade ago. If I don't beat Young Robin on the first go I will keep going until I do. In the interests of transparency, my previous time was 1 hour 44 minutes, which is incidentally faster than TV's Andrew Lincoln who ran the Cardiff Half the same year.
