In the early morning of Saturday 12th December 2009 my wife, Joanne suffered a stroke and was taken to Southend Hospital where she received fantastic treatment and was able to make a full recovery.

As a result of the great care and support she received from the Stroke Unit I have decided to run the Brighton Marathon this year on the 10th April to raise money for this unit so that they can continue to provide this fantastic service for other people that suffer strokes.
