Story
I work in the Edinburgh Centre for Neuro-Oncology (Brain Tumour Unit) and am passionate about improving the care we give people with brain tumours. We have started an ambitious project to increase the number of surgical trials we can offer and also to buy a special bit of kit that costs >£250k to allow us to identify and remove more tumour tissue, more safely during surgery. It is called an intraoperative ultrasound. We would be one of only 3 units in the UK who could offer this.
Joy and I, with the help of some other members of the family von Trapp (a.k.a. The Grants), are going to get on their collective bikes to do a sponsored cycle round Loch Rannoch to help raise funds for this. We are aiming to cycle about 100 miles for one of your smiles (and some cash!).
If we break the fundraising target of £500, I will also donate £500 to the fund.
So please dig deep and donate now.
Thanks
Robin and Joy
