Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. The GNR is now over again for another year. I completed the run in 1h 36m 16s (by my watch). In the end i was relieved that i managed to finish. I was going great until just past half way (42m). Then i started to find it hard to breathe so i had to run the second half really slowly (i even walked for a few metres until i realised that it was harder than running for some reason). Once again it was a wonderful day. I would like to thank Vicky, Ellie, Yvonne, Jacky and Chris for coming to cheer me along. Also to Brian who we struggled to meet up with due to the number of other people using their mobiles at the same time! The number of people cheering us along the route was phenomenal. Many thanks to all of you.

Especially, I would really like to thank you all for sponsoring me and for helping me surpass my fundraising target. I really do appreciate it! I chose ChildLine again because Yvonne and I are learning what it takes to become Foster Carers and the issue of child protection is utmost in our minds.

If you havn't sponsored me yet, there is still time. Please dig deep and help ChildLine to be able to continue answering calls from young people 24 hours a day.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: ChildLine gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Many thanks,

Robert Main

ChildLine is the UK's free and confidential, 24 hour helpline for children in distress or danger. Trained volunteer counsellors comfort, advise, support and protect children and young people who may feel they have nowhere else to turn. Children call ChildLine about a wide range of problems, but the most common problems are abuse (both sexual and physical), bullying, serious family tensions, worries about friends' welfare and teenage pregnancy. Children and young people can call ChildLine about anything – no problem is too big or too small. ChildLine is a service provided by the NSPCC
