Story
Hi, my name is Robert, I've just turned 50, and I am putting my life on hold for autism awareness!
I will be living inside a glass box at the Tesco Extra store on Birmingham Road in Dudley, in full view of the public for a full 50 hours. I will enter the box at Noon on Wednesday 11th, and if successful, will leave at 2PM on Friday 13th November.
Many families of autistic children have told Caudwell Children that autism is often like living 'in a glass box' - the isolation, difficulty in communicating and feeling 'trapped' - are often associated with the condition.
I am hoping to raise £2,000 during my challenge, as well as flying the flag for autism and generating awareness and understanding of the condition. Volunteers from the charity will be on hand 24/7 to explain the support they give to local families and answer any questions you have.
I plan on having lots of activities and entertainment happening around the box, and I'm hoping the community of Tipton and surrounding areas will support my challenge! Many people will know me from the library, and it's well documented that I enjoy a good challenge!
You can donate here on my justgiving page or via your mobile phone: Simply text: LIFA57 £amount to 70070.
Thank you for vising my page, and I hope to see you from my glass box!
Robert
