Story
Robert Taylor, was born in 1959 with a degenerative eye condition called Retinitis Pigmentosa that meant his eye-sight would deteriorate throughout his life. By the time he was in his 40's, he was registered blind.
A sports lover, and decent standard cricketer in his youth, Robert has never let his disability hold him back. In the early 2000's he completed several marathons including London and Berlin, and even to this day continues to walk and run where possible. More recently, he has got into writing novels, his first being published in 2014.
Inspired by the fantastic work of our healthcare workers, this May, Robert has decided to attempt to walk/run 310 kilometres (i.e. 10k a day) in aid of the East Anglian Air Ambulance - a huge challenge in itself even for a young person with perfect eyesight. Now aged 60, it will be one of his biggest challenges to date, but one he is certain he will complete. You'll be able to track his progress on Strava.
Please do give generously - not just because of the size of this challenge, but because of the tremendous work the EAAA carry out on a daily basis. They need our support to continue doing what they do.
