I cannot remember what led me to decide that undertaking the world’s toughest foot race in the Sahara this March was a good idea?! 6 days, 255km, carrying all my kit and food over endless sand dunes, rocky jebels and white hot salt plains in temperatures of up to 50+ degrees sounds pretty unrelaxing. I’ve bought my venom pump now though so there’s no backing out….
I will once again be raising money for Moorfields Eye Hospital. 2 million people across the uk live with impaired vision, of which I am one and Moorfields is there to provide the best possible support and care necessary. It’s a world leader in cutting edge eye research that make a difference to patients at the hospital, across the Uk and around the world.
Training has been choppy at times due to a persistent hamstring injury, but having just completed the 70km country to capital race in jan in good shape, I’ve got the two day pilgrims challenge to come and things are looking up!
Please dig deep, as I will certainly have to do so on March 25th 2022 in the Sahara.
