Story
My grandma, Dorothy Holmes (Grandma seaside) passed away early 2016. She had been a professional baker in her younger years, filling many books with her own recipes, that I still use today. She loved the outdoors and we would go to the beach often. She was an extremely caring, kind and loving person. So much so, she opened up her home and heart to several foster babies over the years. In the last few years of her life, she was living with dementia but it did not dull her spirit or caring nature, especially when the children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were around.
I am doing this run in memory of her and everyone who has been affected by dementia.
Your kind donations will help to support those living with dementia.
Thank you. x

⦁ Alzheimer’s Society research shows that 850,000 people in the UK have a form of dementia. In less than ten years a million people will be living with dementia. This will soar to two million people by 2051
⦁ Dementia costs the UK economy over £26 Billion per year. This is the equivalent of more than £30,000 per person with dementia.
