Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I made it! Took part in a Duathlon on 6th November - ran 10km, cycled 32km and then finished off with a pretty challenging last 5km run, and managed a time of 2hr 36 mins which I’m pretty happy with.
I'm part of the Hyas Associates Team -𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗚𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 - In our Connecting Garden Communities Challenge we aim to cover the distance between the 5 Garden Communities that Hyas are supporting and connect them together, a total distance of 750 miles. We will be taking part in various challenges to smash the 750 miles and maybe beyond! We’re going to run, walk, cycle, row and swim to reach our target.
In 21st century Britain, everybody should have a place to live. People lose their homes for a variety of reasons. Rising pressure from high rents and low pay, or a sudden life event like losing a job or family breakdown, can quickly force people into homelessness.
Your donation helps to fund Crisis at their year-round work with people experiencing homelessness. How they can help someone depends on their individual needs. It could be help finding a home, learning new skills and finding a job, or supporting health and wellbeing. They use research to find wider solutions to homelessness and campaign for the changes needed to end homelessness for good.
Just to give you an idea how your donation can help -->
£10 could provide a warm welcome and help someone take the first steps out of homelessness.
£25 could support someone to access volunteering opportunities, helping them to give back to society and gain valuable work experience.
£50 could provide someone with the basic essentials they need to settle into a home, such as a kettle, pans and microwave.
£100 could help someone improve their mental and physical wellbeing, building resilience through group sessions and one-to-one psychological therapy.
