I'm running my first ever marathon in Abingdon (by Oxford) on 23 October 2022 for Cancer Research. I've never run a marathon before but am aiming for sub 3hrs (although think 3:10 - 3:15 is more realistic!)

My family has been particularly hit hard with cancer the past few years, with my wife suffering from bowel cancer involving surgery and horrid chemo (now thankfully in remission for the past 5 years), my dad having throat cancer in 2020 and my mum recently diagnosed with skin cancer (yes, next time you read about the NHS in financial crisis it is mainly due to my family!)

Fortunately through amazing advancements in treatments and the wonderful NHS all my family have successfully fought cancer and are on the mend.

I want to raise more money to find more cures to these terrible diseases and to help more families to enjoy wonderful years together.
