Update 16/04/22: It's with sadness that i update that my Dad went to sleep on Wednesday 13th of April. After 6 months of suffering I'm pleased he can now finally rest. However, we're all obviously grieving losing him. This ride will be a swan song to my dad and all of those that suffer with Dementia.
I'm taking on the RideLondon-Essex 100 and cycling 100 miles for Dementia UK and on behalf of my dad whom is battling the hard miles with Dementia since last year and now. The impact of dementia has been profound, heart breaking and some one of the saddest situations I've ever had to witness.
I've put riding off the agenda for the last 2 years over covid, mostly due to lack of motivation. But it's time to come out of retirement and do this in honor of my dad and to support Dementia UK.
I thank you all in advance for your donations, what ever the value they will contribute to much needed support for dementia sufferers.
Dementia UK is the specialist dementia nurse charity. Our nurses, called Admiral Nurses, provide life-changing care to families affected by all forms of dementia, including Alzheimers disease. They help people with dementia stay independent for longer, and support the people caring for them so they have the strength to cope with the bad days, and the energy to enjoy the good days. They have the time to listen and the knowledge to solve problems, helping families take back control when they are struggling.* Share your personal story let your sponsors know why you have chosen to support Dementia UK by taking part in RideLondon-Essex 100 2022
