Story
Thank you for taking time to visit our Just Giving Page. Bob was recovering from Covid 19 at home when his symptoms became worse and was admitted to the Royal Derby hospital.
Bob was initially treated on Ward 403 but was transferred to ICU to continue with his treatment when his condition worsened.
Unfortunately Bob became critically ill and sadly passed away with his family by his side on the 16th Nov. Anyone who is close to Bob knows he put up a brave fight. We, his immediate family, spent weeks with Bob in hospital and witnessed his fight to the end.
Bob had been previously diagnosed with Cirrhosis of the liver (Non-Alcoholic Fatty liver disease) and had responded well to treatment. However, after contracting Covid 19 he suffered further complications to his liver that sadly did not respond to treatment.
We can't thank the incredible staff on ward 403 and ICU enough for their brilliant care and support over this difficult period. They did everything within their powers to treat dad and support us and we will forever be grateful to them.
In memory of our beloved Bob, instead of flowers, we would be grateful if everyone would donate to the Liver Department based at the Royal Derby Hospital via this page. In amongst other conditions, Bob’s battle was ultimately lost due to liver failure. Whilst we can no longer help Bob, we know that donating to this charity will help bring about improvements that will help future generations with their individual battles.
Bob had time for everyone and dedicated his life to helping others. As the proud owner of Raynesway Interiors Bob loved nothing more than talking to his customers and finding out more about them as well as sharing his own stories. Bob was loved by all those who met him and we know that each person who had the pleasure of spending time with Bob will cherish the special memories they have of him.
Thank you for your donation.
Best wishes
