Story
LOROS is a charity whose aim is to enhance the quality of life of adult patients with cancer, progressive neurological conditions and end-stage organ failure for whom curative treatment is no longer possible. Patients are treated at the Hospice and in the community based upon clinical need, regardless of background and the ability to pay.
Fourteen years ago my dad was admitted to Loros with heart failure. The love and kindness shown to dad and our family in those last few days made an unbearable event bearable.
Two years ago Lyn Smolinski, our dearest friend ,was also admitted to Loros with cancer.Again the love and kindness shown to her and her family was amazing. Loros managed to organise a complete wedding blessing for her son in the hospital with Lynn and family and friends in attendance.
Just two amazing acts of kindness separated by 12 years.
How can we not support Loros? Such kindness has been repeated day in and day out every day for years.
Jumping out of a plane in a tandem parachute jump is the least I can do to show my absolute support and appreciation for Loros.
I may be 71 and terrified but if that is what I have to do to raise funds to continue their fabulous work then I will.
Please support my fundraising efforts for such a worthy and worthwhile charity by donating to my just giving page.
