Doing the Great North Run is a personal thing I really need to do for my Dad who passed away last August 08 after finding out in July 08 that he had bowel cancer. He had previously been fit and healthy. I have always tried to keep fit by playing squash twice a week for the last 20 years and I have been running for the last few months 2 or 3 times a week building upto just over 6 miles a run, but I need to get upto 13 miles which will be a big challenge for me.
