This is not about me or my (obvious) mid-life crisis, it’s about Thames Valley Air Ambulance.
Unlike the average land ambulance, TVAA’s helicopter and emergency response vehicles are manned by a paramedic and doctor team.
With a doctor onboard, they can bring the skills and expertise of a hospital to the scene of an incident. TVAA’s pilots, paramedics and doctors work together as a team, along with other emergency services to deliver the best care for patients.
The aim of TVAA’s crew is to be the best they can be, and continuously train and develop their skills and expertise. Each crew member spends time in realistic practice scenarios, so they are ready for any eventuality and they need state of the art equipment to do their vital work.
All of this means their advanced doctor and paramedic team can perform critical medical procedures prior to a patient arriving at hospital. TVAA’s crew can relieve pain, straighten broken limbs, and deliver emergency anaesthesia among a long list of vital medical care.
So please be generous and support this very worthy cause.
