Story
For reasons that I've yet to figure out, on the 26th April 2018 I am going to be entering a boxing ring. In fact not only that, I'm going to be not just holding up a sign with the round numbers. No. I am going to be donning some gloves and ACTUALLY boxing.
Just to make the whole thing a tad weirder, I'm actually going to be boxing my actual boss (and good mate) Dave Gibbs. At least if I lose I win by getting a pity pay rise this year!
Anyway, this rather odd turn of events is happening to raise money for the brilliant Lily Foundation. Liz Curtis and the Lily Team created this wonderful charity in Lily's name and this is the sixth Fight Night they've held. Me putting myself through training (obviously doesn't come naturally) and being punched in the face is nothing in comparison to what they and many other families have experienced because of Mitochondrial Disease, so please give generously and help this amazing cause.
Tickets are on sale now for the night so for those that like the idea of me being punched, please go buy one. And please give, as little or as much as you can to support this brilliant event. It won't quite be Joshua v Klitschko but we'll try and give you something to enjoy and having been on a few occasions, it's a brilliant night for everyone (bar maybe us!)
The Lily Foundation was founded in Lily's memory, having lost her battle to Mitochondrial Disease at just eight months old. The charity aims to give hope, answers and support to the many other children and families that face the challenges of this disease today.Did you know every twenty minutes a child is born who will develop Mitochondrial Disease by the age of 16! There is no cure for this disease which is for many, debilitating and life limiting. Please stand with us and fight Mitochondrial Disease and fight for hope.
