Story

In October I'm running the Bath Half Marathon 2023 for Action for M.E.!

I’m running for my wife, Leonie and all the other people who live with M.E. For 10 years M.E. has impacted our lives. Daily, I am inspired by Leonie’s courage, optimism and strength in the face of a condition that has changed her life in profound ways.

People with M.E. experience extreme fatigue, debilitating pain, struggle to recover from even minimal exertion, have difficulties concentrating and thinking, and difficulties sleeping. These can continue for months and years.

Too many people with M.E. are hidden, misunderstood or experience stigma,  I want to raise money and awareness so there is better understanding and support for people with M.E.

Some facts about M.E.:

  • M.E. is the most common cause of long-term health related absence at schools
  • 1 in 4 people with M.E. are severely affected, leaving them bed or house-bound
  • Less than 10% of people with M.E. are able to work full-time

Please sponsor me to help me reach my target and to help Action for M.E. provide vital information, support and advocacy services to people of all ages with M.E.
