Story
I recently had first hand experience of the amazing work done at East Surrey neonatal intensive care unit.
Baby Nancie was born on the 29th of May this year.
My wife and I were delighted however it quickly became clear that there was a problem. Nancie was born with a serious bowel condition, which required surgery.
The Staff at East Surrey hospital were fantastic, they identified that Nancie had a problem and looked after her in the Neonatal unit until she could be transported to Brighton for the surgery she needed.
Nancie has made a full recovery and is now a happy baby but through this experience we saw a lot of poorly babies and the great work that gets done by the Neonatal unit.
East Surrey Hospital are building a brand new unit so they can get the very best care. I'm running to help raise funds for state-of-the-art equipment and better facilities for their families.
Donations will help provide additional equipment including top of the range neonatal incubators, which enhance the comfort of babies, and allow easier contact between mums & dads and the baby, alongside helping to create comfortable family rooms which provide vital rest for those who stay in the unit.
Thank you for supporting my running, and our local hospital
