Story
Hi, thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Rob and I wanted to set ourselves a challenge to work towards and decided that we would look into doing a race in order to raise money for the Down's Syndrome Association as we have a relationship with this charity following the birth of our daughter Scarlett.
In a moment of madness a few months ago we filled out a few online entry forms to see if we could obtain a place in the Great North Run (13.1 miles). A few weeks later and the email of 'congratulations you have a place' came through! We were a little bit shocked as neither of us had been successful in obtaining places in previous years.
We have since regularly thrown on a pair of trainers and have been training fairly sucessfully; give or take the odd week of injuries for both of us and a run-in with a "ped egg". Overall (dare we say it!) we are looking forward to the big event especially the celebrity spotting!
We are hoping that if everyone of our friends on Facebook gives just a quid or two, we will raise in excess of £300.
We do understand that everyone is after your money these days but this particular event does so well in helping to raise money for really good causes. We hope you enjoy watching it on Telly on 19th September. In the meantime, we'll start cramming for all those sessions missed when we just couldn't drag ourselves out! (yikes, less than 3 weeks to go)
Many Thanks
Katie and Robert
