I completed this ride again (I was mad!) on Sunday 10th June as part of preparation for the Ride London Surrey 100 mile cycling event at end July and, this year, I rode - in particular - to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support team.

Since my last ride daughter Catherine has discovered she has Breast Cancer. Her programme of chemotherapy etc has gone well so far, I understand, and she always says how amazingly helpful and supportive the Macmillan team of nurses are for her.

Catherine reminds me that the nurses are there to support both the patient - her's are available all the time to give her advice, guidance and reassurance - and also to support the family who can have many anxieties about what's going on.
